Happy Earth Day from Greenerprinter!

Welcome to our Earth Day newsletter. We view Earth Day as an opportunity for us to reflect on some of the good things we've done for the planet during the past year, such as: Earth Day is also an opportunity for us to thank you, our customer, for your continued business. Together, we are helping to change the way the world prints.

In honor of Earth Day: EWG.org to receive 5% of Greenerprinter revenues

Greenerprinter donates to the Environmental Working Group in Honor of Earth Day
We've also decided to do something a little bit different to honor Earth Day this year by donating a portion of our revenue to one of our favorite non-profits, EWG.org.

About EWG.org The mission of the Environmental Working Group (EWG) is to use the power of public information to protect public health and the environment. In 2002, its organizers founded the EWG Action Fund, a 501(c)(4) organization that advocates on Capitol Hill for health-protective and subsidy-shifting policies.

EWG specializes in providing useful resources to consumers while simultaneously pushing for national policy change.

EWG has 2 primary goals:
  1. To protect the most vulnerable segments of the human population-children, babies, and infants in the womb-from health problems attributed to a wide array of toxic contaminants.
  2. To replace federal policies, including government subsidies that damage the environment and natural resources, with policies that invest in conservation and sustainable development.

We believe in what this organization is doing and think that most of our customers do too. So to honor them on Earth Day (and throughout the rest of April), we've decided to donate 5% of all print orders to EWG. Our goal is to raise $5,000 for EWG, but in order to do this, we need your help!

Greenerprinter honored with prestigious environmental business award!

Greenerprinter honored with Acterra Business Environmental Award We are pleased to announce that we've been awarded the Acterra Business Environmental Award for Pollution Prevention/Resource Conservation, placing us alongside such luminaries as Adobe Systems Inc., the City of San Jose, Applied Materials Inc., and the University of California, Santa Cruz.

The Acterra judges recognized Greenerprinter's leadership in the industry: "Greenerprinter is making its operations as waste-free as possible and educating both its suppliers and customers to do the same," said Walt Hays, Judging Team Captain. "By using high post-consumer recycled paper, and low VOC ink, the company is taking a lead in greening a traditionally inefficient industry. It regularly seeks to educate and exchange ideas with customers and peers at industry events and via social media outlets. Because of these efforts, we are pleased to recognize Greenerprinter for its environmental leadership in the printing industry."

Acterra's Business Environmental Awards is one of the San Francisco Bay Area's oldest and most prestigious environmental recognition programs. Initiated in 1990, it is considered a heavyweight among award programs due to its rigorous application and judging process. "Our awardees must demonstrate their environmental commitment and achievements through a careful vetting process," states Board President Laura Teksler. "In addition to a thorough written application, the top contenders must demonstrate their programs' merits firsthand to the judges during a visit to the applicants' facilities. By the time they are selected to receive our award, they have truly proven that their programs are "setting the bar" in corporate environmental leadership."

Greenerprinter will be honored at the 2010 Business Environmental Awards Reception on Thursday, June 3rd at the Crowne Plaza Cabana Hotel in Palo Alto, California.
