Proofing Options
All orders submitted to Greenerprinter require proof approval so that you can be confident about what your project will look like before production starts. You can choose from two proofing methods.
Soft Proofs
A “soft proof” is a digital PDF of your file that shows the appearance of the final product, including where it will be scored/cut.
Soft proofs are the fastest and least expensive way to proof your job. You may receive up to 2 free soft proofs with an order. Each additional proof is $15.
Within one business day after placing your order, you will receive an email with a link to your soft proof. It should be viewed in Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat for the most accuracy.
Soft Proof Viewing Tips
When viewing in Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat, please ensure that you have turned on Overprint Preview. This can be done in your Preferences menu by switching the “Use Overprint Preview” option to “Always,” as seen below.

Hard Proofs
A "hard proof" is a single, high-quality, physical copy that will get mailed to you. The price for a hard proof varies according to the nature of your project. You will be charged for each hard proof you get sent.
Hard proofs will be mailed to you according to the shipping preferences you select.
Depending on your job’s printing method, a proof made on your chosen paper stock may or may not be available. If you are concerned about the actual paper that will be used for your project, please visit our sample request page.
An ink drawdown on your paper stock can be ordered for $75.
Mock-up Proofs
A "mock-up proof" is a high-quality, physical sample that provides a preview of how your file will look on the selected paper stock. Please note that mockup proofs may not be color-accurate and are intended purely as a visual reference.
Mockup proofs are sent cut to the final size, but no production finishing is done. For instance, if you order a half-fold card, the proof will be cut to the correct dimensions but not folded. It will also display magenta die lines to indicate where the card would be scored and folded during production.
The cost of a mockup proof depends on the specifics of your project, and you'll be charged for each proof sent. Proofs are mailed according to the shipping preferences you select. If you want a sample of the actual paper for your project, please visit our sample request page.
An ink drawdown on your selected paper stock is also available for $75.
Color Proofs
A "color proof" is a flat sheet that provides the most accurate color representation of your project. Unlike mockup proofs, this proof is designed specifically to show color precision, though it is not printed on your selected paper stock.
Color proofs are sent as flat sheets, not cut to the final size, and do not include any production finishing. This proof is ideal for those seeking the closest match to the final print colors.
Each color proof is available at a flat cost of $195. Shipping preferences will be followed as specified.
Reviewing Your Proof
After reviewing the proof, you have 3 choices:
Proof approved:
To approve your proof, enter your name in the box on the proof approval web page link that was sent to you.
If you approve the job before 4:00 pm PST, the production turnaround time that you selected when placing your order begins the next business day.
You will receive an email confirming the approval of your proof and showing your target completion date. Please note that shipping time is in addition to production time.
Proof disapproved, new files will be sent:
Check this box if you discover a problem with your proof (such as a typo) and you need to send a new file(s).
You will then be directed to the file upload page. You may also send new files later by logging into our site and clicking “Upload Additional Files” under your “Account Details.”
Proof disapproved, changes required:
Check this box if you discover a problem with your proof (such as a typo) and would like us to fix it for you.
Type the instructions for the change(s), and a member of our staff will contact you with any questions. Please note that you will be charged $60 for file processing.
If you disapprove of a hard proof you can choose whether you’d like a soft or a hard proof for the next iteration.
