Proofing Options

All orders at Greenerprinter require proof approval before we begin printing. We offer soft proofs mock-up proofs, and color proofs depending on your product and needs.

Soft Proof

We provide two types of soft proofs:
  • Instant Proofs (Automated System): Available for select products such as cards & postcards, multi-page (saddle-stitched, perfect bound, Wire-O), and hang tags. Your proof is generated immediately and available online for instant review.
  • Manual Proofs (Prepress Review): For products not yet supported by our automated system, our prepress team manually reviews your files. Within 3–4 business hours, you’ll receive a proof email. If changes are needed, your order will be placed on hold with notes; if approved, production begins.

You will receive up to 2 free soft proofs per order. Each additional proof costs $15.

Mock-up Proof

For a fee, we will send you a printed mock-up shipped within 1 business day. Mock-up proofs are primarily used to confirm artwork placement and paper selection, not color accurate nor will it have finishing details.

Mock-up proofs do not include any finishing processes such as die-cutting, drilling, scoring, folding, kleenstick, or other bindery work.
If you would like to see a fully finished version of your job—including all final production and finishing details—please request a prototype (sample of 1) separately from your main order.

These proofs are printed on your chosen paper stock, but colors may not be fully accurate.

  • Second Day Mock-up Proofs: Shipped via 2-Day Shipping

Color Proofs

A color proof is a flat sheet that provides the most accurate color representation of your project. Unlike mock-up proofs, this proof is designed to show color precision, though it is not always printed on your selected paper stock.
  • Color proofs are sent as flat sheets (not cut to final size, no finishing).
  • Ideal for those seeking the closest match to final print colors.
  • Cost: $195 each (shipping preferences followed as specified).

Approving or Disapproving Proofs

  • Proof Approved:
    Enter your name on the approval page to release your job into production. If approved before 4:00 pm PST, turnaround time begins the next business day. (Shipping time is in addition to production time.)
  • Proof Disapproved – New Files Sent:
    Select this option if your proof has an error (e.g., typo) and you need to upload new files. You’ll be directed to the file upload page or can upload later under “Account Details.”
  • Proof Disapproved – Changes Required:
    Select this option if you want to upload a new file an or change your design

If you disapprove a hard proof, you may choose whether the next iteration is sent as a soft or hard proof.
