A squared, glued spine just like a store-bought paperback. The professional default for novels, manuals and thicker books, and the only binding you can print on the spine. Need it to lie flat? Lay-flat perfect binding is available as a custom-quote option.

Pick paper and cover

Match the interior weight to your content and choose a cover stock. Add soft-touch lamination for extra durability and feel.

Prepare a print-ready file

Export a 300 DPI CMYK PDF with 0.125 inch bleed. Perfect bound books take the interior and cover as separate files, the rest take one ordered PDF.

04

Review your proof

Approve a free digital soft proof, or order a printed mock-up to check layout and paper. Need exact color? Ask about a color proof. Production starts once you approve.

Use a standard trim size like 5.5" x 8.5" or 6" x 9", a black-and-white interior, and uncoated text paper. Choose saddle stitch for books up to 60 pages, or perfect binding for longer ones. Ordering more copies at once also lowers the cost per book.
